This weekend I was in Los Angeles for business.
We are (also) building our business outside Europe and in my opinion you need to be there where your business is.
Some time ago my daughter Daniëlle had given me a copy of ‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill.
Facing a 11 hour flight (twice) I decided to take this book with me on the plane.
I read the book from cover to cover.
The original text of the book goes back to 1937. The book impressed me especially when I realised the actuality of the message. As if he wrote the book this century….
I’m turning excerpts of the book into interactive team trainings so that the people we work with also can benefit.
Today I want to share a quote with you that has been very important for me over the past years already:
“The man that does more than he is paid for will soon be paid for more than he does”.
In my entire working life I have always done more. You can say that this has been one of the rules I lived by.
In traditional business you will find a lot of people doing exactly enough to prevent them from being fired. Where the employer is paying them just enough to prevent them from leaving the company.
In my current business again I’m doing more than may be expected and the reward is beyond expectation.
I can confirm the quote from Napoleon Hill and I can also encourage you to live by this rule. Doing more is a choice…
